ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - It was an up and down day for the North Texas women's golf team as they sit in 11th place after the first two rounds of the Dick McGuire Invitational. The Mean Green opened with a first round of 298, but fell back with a 307 in the second round to shoot a 605.
Freshman McKenzie Ralston, playing in her first round of college golf, fired the second lowest round in the field of 96 golfers at 2-under par. Ralston had four birdies and only two bogeys in her opening round. She fell back to 6-over par in her second round and has a score of 150, tied for 24th.
Addison Long also has a score of 150 after two rounds of play. Long shot a 74 in the opening round and followed that up with a second round of 76 as she recorded seven birdies on the day.
Chaslyn Chrismer is tied for 45th place at 152 after shooting scores of 74 and 78. Kelsey Kipp is one stroke behind at 153 after a 77 and 76 in her two rounds. Taylor Kilponen shot rounds of 84 and 83.
North Texas had the fifth lowest opening round but after the second round they are 19 strokes behind the leader Northwestern.
