Rose's 76 Not Enough At Windy NT Women's Golf Classic

ROBSON, Texas (9/11/07) Jordan Rose’ low round wasn’t enough to help the Mean Green, as NT fell into a tie for 11th place in the final round of the North Texas Women’s Golf Classic at Robson Ranch.

Rose tied a team-tournament low with a final round 76, but high winds forced all of the sophomore’s teammates into the 80’s.

Oklahoma City University edged Sam Houston in a tiebreak for the tournament title after both teams fired off two-day scores of 609. Susan Nam of Florida International took the top individual honors with a one over par 145.

Thunderstorms hampered day one of the tournament, causing officials to cancel the opening round. North Texas sat in ninth place after Monday.

Maggie Noel, who led the charge for North Texas in the opening round, shot an 83 in day two, dropping her into a tie for 41st place. Chandra Alexander finished in 30th place with rounds of 77 and 80.

Halli Jo Richards struggled with a pair of 82 rounds to finish tied for 57, while Janna Golden ended in 72nd place after shooting 78 and 91.

The Mean Green returns to action on Oct. 1 at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational in Lawrence, Kan.
