North Texas Women's Golf Classic Opens 2005 Season

DENTON (9/11/05) - With all of the building blocks firmly in place, the North Texas women’s golf team is looking forward to the start of the 2005-06 season.


The Mean Green return eight letterwinners from last season and with the addition of new head coach Amber Chevrie’s experience and expertise, the Mean Green are eying the Sun Belt Conference Championship


The 2005-06 season begins with the North Texas Women’s Golf Classic to be hosted at Robson Ranch. It will mark the first tournament hosted by North Texas since 2003.


“I’m really excited about the start of the season and I think that the girls are ready to go. It’s always fun to start the year off hosting a tournament and I think that we will perform well,” said North Texas head coach Amber Chevrie. “We have really worked hard over the summer and I think that we are going to see those results this fall. We have a lot of talent on this team and we are anxious to start the season.”


The 2005 North Texas Women’s Golf Classic will feature of field of 10 teams that begins on Monday morning with a shotgun start.
