Golf Team Battles At Unlimited Potential Classic

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (9/7/03)- The North Texas women's golf team battled blustery conditions in the final round of the Unlimited Potential Classic to finish tied for 27th at the Baytree Golf and Plantation Country Club.

North Texas, which advanced to the tournament championship round, shot a final round score of 335 in the largest women's golf collegiate tournament of the year.

Sophomore Andra Lancaster paced the Mean Green with a two-round score of 163. Jaclyn Golden fired a final round 83 to finish at 165 while Laura Rakel shot a final round 84 to put her at 167 for the tournament.

True freshman Tara Lambright struggled in the final round with an 89 after a stellar performance in the first round with an 81. Kasey Hardin finished tied with Lambright for the tournament with a two-round score of 170.

North Texas is back in action on September 15-16 at the Chip-n-Club Invitational in Lincoln Neb.
