Former Mean Green Golfer Chandra Hall Tees Off At Q-School
Hall Opens First Stage Of LPGA Q-School Thursday In California
RANCHO MIRAGE, California - Former North Texas golfer Chandra Hall (2007-2011) is set to tee off from Mission Hills Country Club's Dinah Shore course Thursday in stage one of the 2017 LPGA and Symetra Tour Qualifying event.
The event features a field of 362 competitors representing 42 different countries, and takes place Thursday, Aug. 24 through Sunday, Aug. 27 on three different courses in Rancho Mirage. Fans can follow along with Hall's performance here.
"We are cheering for Chandra this week as she plays at Q-school," Mean Green head coach Michael Akers said. "I didn't coach her but watched her when she played at UNT while I was coaching at my previous university. It is awesome to see a former Mean Green golfer restore her passion for competitive golf and go after her dream. We are certainly working very hard to recruit young ladies with that same dream. We also hope to build relationships with all the former players and bring them back to campus."
Hall, a Southlake native, was a three-time Sun Belt honor roll honoree during her time in Denton. She was an All-Sun Belt conference performer as a senior in 2011, when she averaged a team-low score of 74.93 over 11 tournaments. Hall posted three top 10 finishes as a senior, including a second place finish at the Pat Bradley Invitational, where she fired a collegiate-best 70 in final round.
