DENTON, Texas - Former North Texas women's golfer Maggie Noel won the Women's Texas Golf Association State Amateur Championship. Noel, a standout golfer for the Mean Green from 2007-10, captured the championship in match play by defeating Katelynn Sepmoree, a sophomore from the University of Texas.
Noel made her way through the match play portion of the championship the last few days with wins in the round of 32, 16, quarterfinals, and semifinals before setting up her championship match with Sepmoree.
Noel won nothing but close matches en route to the championship over Sepmoree. Noel defeated Sepmoree for the title 1-up.
