Richards And Rose Named To The All-American Scholar Team

DENTON, Texas (7/7/08) Junior Halli Richards and sophomore Jordan Rose have shown what they can do on the golf course and they have now been recognized for their work in the classroom.

Richards and Rose were honored by the National Golf Coaches Association and named to the 2007-08 All-American Scholar Team.

Richards, a kinesiology major, and Rose, an accounting major, were one of 402 student-athletes from Division I, II, and II honored.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50% (Division I) or 66% (Division II & III) of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

Both players had standout years on the course this season as Richards was second on the team in stroke average while Rose was third.
