Cox Named WGCA All-American Scholar
Lauren Cox's 3.5 Cumulative GPA Earns Her Prestigious Honor
CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (July 3, 2018) – Mean Green golfer Lauren Cox was named an All-American Scholar by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Tuesday. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team require a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
The Orange, Texas, native has posted a 3.5 cumulative GPA and also led the Mean Green in 2017-18 in scoring average, carding an average of 75.18, a marked improvement from her 2016-17 season (76.8). She had four top-20 finishes, a pair of which were in the top-10, including a tie for fifth at the Conference USA Championships, where she earned all-tournament team recognition. Cox also had the best individual round of the season for UNT, posting a career-low 67 at the Johnie Imes Invitational in the fall. She also earned second team all-conference honors from C-USA.
