North Texas In 10th As Play Opens At SBC Championship

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. - It was a difficult opening day for the North Texas women's golf team at the Sun Belt Conference Championship. The Mean Green shot an opening round of 313 and sits in 10th place after the first 18 holes of the championship.

Denver is the overall team leader after the first day with a score of 7-under par 281.

Senior Jordan Rose was a bright spot for North Texas as she posted a 3-over par 75 after 18 holes. It was a wild round for Rose as she carded five birdies on the day. Rose is tied for 13th place after the first day of play.

Kelsey Kipp shot an opening round of 78 and is tied for 32nd place. Kipp had two birdies on the back nine holes and shot a 35. Maggie Noel is one shot behind Kipp with an opening round of 79 as she had two birdies on the day. Janna Golden shot an opening round of 81 while Addison Long struggled with an 88 after 18 holes.

The second round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship continues tomorrow morning from The Schoolmaster course.
