Mean Green Tied For Second Place At SBC

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. - After 18 holes the North Texas women's golf team is tied for second place and Chandra Alexander is tied for second place atop the leaderboard at the opening day of the Sun Belt Conference Championship.

The Mean Green shot an opening round of 293 and is four strokes behind defending conference champion Denver who leads by four after the first round. North Texas has four players in the top-20 after the first round.

Alexander shot a 1-under par 71 through 18 holes that featured four birdies on the day. Alexander is only one stroke off the lead after 18 holes.

Jacey Chun is tied for seventh place after a 73, three strokes of the lead. Chun had five birdies, but four bogeys and one double bogey.

Freshman Chaslyn Chrismer is one stroke back with a 74 while Addison Long shot an opening round of 75. Chrismer is tied for 13th place while Long is tied for for 17th place. Kelsey Kipp is tied for 24th place after her first round score of 76.

North Texas is tied with UALR after the opening round for second place. The second round begins tomorrow morning and live stats can be found at
