North Texas Falters In The Second Round Of SBC Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. (4/17/07) Youth finally worked against the Mean Green. The North Texas women’s golf team found the second round of the 2007 Sun Belt Conference Golf Championship tough as they fired a 318 and slipped to seventh place overall.

 

North Texas, playing four freshmen, has a two-round score of 629 heading into the final round at Disney’s Eagle Pines Course. Denver has the overall lead heading into the final round with a score of 596.

 

Freshman Jordan Rose duplicated her effort from yesterday with a second round of 77 and is at 154 for the tournament. Maggie Noel dropped a shot from her first round with a 79 in the second round and has a 157 for the tournament.

 

Freshman Janna Golden posted a second round of 80 and senior Tara Lambright had a difficult afternoon with an 82. Freshman Kelsie Gray carded a second round of 87.

 

North Texas plays the final round of the SBC Championship tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m.
