MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – The North Texas women’s golf team dropped to eighth place but Taylor Kilponen remained in the top-10 after the second round of the 2013 Sun Belt Conference Championship. The Mean Green shot a second round of 311 and has a two-round score of 619 while Kilponen is tied for 10th place after 36 holes.
FIU remains out in front after two rounds and they will take a six-stroke lead into the final round over Middle Tennessee.
Kilponen was 5-over on the day and was only able to notch one birdie. She is at 6-over 150 for the tournament. McKenzie Ralston climbed into the top-25 after firing the lowest round of the day for NT with a 3-over par 75. Ralston is tied for 23rd place. Chaslyn Chrismer fired a second round of 4-over par and moved into a tie for 32nd place thanks in part to three birdies on the day.
Freshman Georgina Mundy struggled on the day as she slid down to 45th place after a second round 84. Brooke Bailey is tied for 53rd following a second round of 83.
