MUSCLE SHOALS, Alabama- The North Texas women's golf team currently sits in third place at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament after an impressive eight over-par 296 for round one. The women have four of their five players ranked in the top-25 for the tournament and have a two stroke lead over FIU.

Freshman McKenzie Ralston leads the Mean Green individually tied for sixth place with an even par 72. It wasn't until holes eight and eleven where she recorded bogeys bringing her back down to even for the day. She is only three strokes off the overall leader.

Placing directly behind her teammate is senior Jacey Chun tied for ninth with a one over-par round one. Chun had a rough time opening tournament play by getting two bogeys within the first four holes. She did bring in five birdies on her scorecard and never reached higher than two over.
