Golden Paces Mean Green In The Final Round

NORMAN, Okla. (4/11/05) -  Junior Jaclyn Golden paced the North Texas women’s golf team at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic with a three-round score of 236 to finish in a tie for 33rd place from The Trails Golf Club.


The Mean Green as a team finished in 12th place after a three-round score of 964.


Golden had a second round of 76 and closed with an 82 to lead the Mean Green. Junior Andra Lancaster struggled in the final round with an 89 after posting scores of 77 and 76 in the first two rounds. Lancaster ended the tournament tied for 45th with a score of 242.


Freshman Lauren Cheves had a third round of 79 and finished two shots behind Lancaster with a  three-round scored of 244. Sophomore Tara Lambright shot a final round of 82 and closed with a 247, while freshman Halli Richards ended with an 85 and a three-round score of 258.


Missouri won the team title after shooting a three-round total of 889 in the 16 team field.


North Texas will now gear up for the Sun Belt Conference Championship which will be played April 18-20.


The tournament will be played at the PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Fla., and the Mean Green will be aiming for the school’s first conference title in the Sun Belt Conference
