Breezy Conditions Keep Scores High At SMU
DALLAS, Texas ? The North Texas women's golf team remains in 12th place after battling through a wind whipped second round at the SMU Dallas Athletic Club Invitational.
DALLAS, Texas – The North Texas women’s golf team remains in 12th place after battling through a wind whipped second round at the SMU Dallas Athletic Club Invitational. Only one team in the field of 15 had a score below 300 on the day and North Texas posted a 321 and has a 651 after two rounds of play.
North Texas didn’t have a player shoot below an 80 in the second round as the conditions kept the scores high for the entire field.
Freshman Georgina Mundy shot a second round of 8-over 80 and is tied for 34th place after two rounds. She had two birdies on the day and is 14-over for the tournament.
Chaslyn Chrismer is tied for 47th place through two rounds with a score of 162. She posted a second round of 10-over par 82. McKenzie Ralston is tied for 58th following a second round of 85. Taylor Kilponen shot her second straight round of 83 and she is tied for 61st place. Brooke Bailey is alone in 79th place after a second round of 93.
North Texas trails Oregon State by four strokes heading into the final round but No. 19 Oklahoma State has the overall lead after two rounds of play.
