NORMAN, Okla. (4/6/09) Playing against the elements for a second straight day the North Texas women’s golf team posted its best round of the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic on the final day. The howling winds kept the scores up across the board as the Mean Green fired a third round of 329 to finish in 13th place.
Junior Maggie Noel battled back and fired one of the better rounds of the tournament with a 5-over par 77. Freshman Addison Long had the lowest three-round score of the event for the Mean Green with a score of 245 to finish in 34th place.
Janna Golden had her lowest round of the tournament with a third round of 81. Jordan Rose and Chandra Alexander had a difficult final round to finish with scores of 259 and 262 respectively.
In all there were only 27 rounds played under 80 in the field of 88 players in the third round.
This was the final tune-up for the Mean Green as they will turn their attention to the Sun Belt Conference Championship on April 20-22.
