Top 10 Finish For Golden, Rose Ties Career-Low Round

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (3/27/07) Freshman Janna Golden notched her first career top 10 finish with a three-round score of 4-over par 220 to pace the North Texas women’s golf team at the NT/UALR Golf Classic.


Golden, who finished tied for sixth place, shot a final round of 75 and joined Maggie Noel as the only Mean Green freshman to earn a top 10 finish this season in a tournament.  


North Texas as a team had its best round of the day with a third round score of 305 to finish in 11th place in the field of 17 teams. UALR won the team championship with a three-round score of 889.


Freshman Jordan Rose tied her career-low in the final round with a 3-over par 75 to finish with a three-round score of 234.


Kelsie Gray fired a third round of 78 and Tara Lambright posted a 79. Noel carded a final round of 80 while Christine Shimon struggled in the final round with an 88.


North Texas has one final tune-up before the Sun Belt Conference Championship at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic on April 8-9.
