CRYSTAL CITY, Fla. - It was a bounce back day for the North Texas women's golf team as they made their move up the leaderboard and are now in second place after the second round at the Cincinnati Spring Invitational.
The Mean Green, going after their fourth tournament win of the season, fired the low round of the day at 292 and is just two shots behind Morehead State heading into the final round tomorrow.
73 was the lucky number for North Texas as four of the five players had rounds of 1-over par for the Mean Green in the second round. Jacey Chun, Chandra Alexander, Addison Long, and Chaslyn Chrismer all fired 1-over par scores of 73 in the second round.
Kelsey Kipp had a 78 but she is tied for 11th place along with Chun and Chrismer at 149. Alexander is tied for 19th place while Long is tied for 26th place.
North Texas is the only school with four players in the top-20 of the field after 36 holes. North Texas is at 593 after two rounds while Morehead State has a 591 after two rounds. The fourth tournament win the Mean Green is going after would add to their school record of three.
The final round begins tomorrow morning at 8:30.
