Kipp In Third Place After 18 Holes

CRYSTAL CITY, Fla. - Kelsey Kipp bounced back from her recent struggles to post a 1-under par round of 71 to lead the North Texas women's golf team in the first round of the Cincinnati Spring Invitational.

Kipp shot her lowest round of the spring and is tied for third place after 18 holes. She is only two-shots off the leader, Paidge Lausier of Morehead State, after the opening round.

North Texas as a team is tied with Elon for fourth place after shooting a 301 in the opening round. Jacey Chun and Chaslyn Chrismer are both tied for 22nd place after firing first round scores of 4-over par 76. Chandra Alexander is two strokes back with a 78 while Addison Long shot a 79 in the opening round.

North Texas is one shot behind Campbell for third, six strokes off Florida Southern, and 11 shots behind the clubhouse leader Morehead State who shot a 290 in the first round.

Second round play begins tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
