Long And Golden Lead North Texas At Final Round In Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawaii - Battling the high winds of the Pacific, the North Texas women's golf team rebounded in the final round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational to post their best score of the tournament. The Mean Green shot a final round of 308 and finished in ninth place in a deep field of 17 teams.

Addison Long and Janna Golden had the best days for North Texas in the third round. Long shot a 3-over par 75 while Golden posted a 4-over par 76 in the third round.

Sophomore Kelsey Kipp had the best tournament for North Texas as she finished tied for 28th after a third round of 81. She had a three-round score of 235. Golden was one shot behind Kipp with a 236 and Chandra Alexander, who shot a final round of 80, shot a 237.

Long's round of 75 boosted her after a difficult opening day as Long had a three-round score of 240. Jordan Rose had her best day of the tournament with a third round of 77 to card a score of 244.

North Texas returns to action on March 22-23 at the BYU Dixie Classic.
