Mean Green Finish In Fifth At The Bobcat Desert Classic

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (3/8/06) The North Texas women’s golf team finished in fifth place, seven shots off the lead, at the final day of the Bobcat Desert Classic from the Palm Valley Golf Club.


Senior Andra Lancaster fell short in her bid to win her second career individual championship as she finished tied for third place.


Lancaster, who held a one-shot lead heading into today’s round, shot a final round of 81 and posted a three-round score of 231.


Sophomore Halli Richards shot a final round of 79 and posted her third career top-10 finish. Richards had a tournament score of 233 and finished tied for seventh place.


Christine Shimon shot a third-round of 79 and had a 240 for the tournament.


Brooke Tanner and Jaclyn Golden fired final rounds of 82 and finished tied at 242.


North Texas as a team fired a 321 and carded a score of 944, seven shots behind tournament champion Northern Arizona.


North Texas returns to action at the Lady Herd/El Diablo Intercollegiate March 20-21.
