North Texas Finishes Day One in 8th

BOULDER CITY, Nevada- The North Texas Women's golf team began their second tournament of the spring season with a two round first day in the UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational. Overall as a team the girls did not have their best day finishing round two with a 45 over-par and sitting in 8th place.

Freshman McKenzie Ralston did have one of her best rounds of the season with an even-par 72 after totaling a five over in round one. Round two began with a promising birdie on hole 15, but she then recorded two bogeys and a double bogey on the next three holes. Ralston would storm back and sink three birdies to finish out the day even. Currently she sits tied for 12th overall at five over-par.

Senior Jacey Chun had a nice day too finishing round two with one over-par after going five over on the first round. She is tied for 26th at ten over-par with eight birdies total in both rounds.

The three other girls competing today were Addison Long, Kelsey Kipp, and Chaslyn Chrismer. Chrismer finished round one tied for 16th going three over, but then shot nine over in round two to put her right outside the top-30 at 33rd. Long shot nine over-par 81 in both rounds and finished tied for 46th, while Kipp is in 58th shooting 24 over-par.

The field in this tournament features four top-50 teams including No. 17 Arizona who leads with seven over-par. The third and final round gets underway tomorrow with live stats found at www.golfstat.com
