Golden Has Top Five Finish At Baja Invitational

BAJA, Mexico (2/12/08) - Sophomore Janna Golden had a career-best finish to lead the North Texas women’s golf team at the Baja Invitational. Golden posted her first top-five finish with a three-round score of 234 to lead the Mean Green.


North Texas as a team finished tied for sixth place with Drake. Iowa won the team championship by six shots over Kennesaw State.


Golden shot a season-low round of 76 in the second round after an opening round of 78. Freshman Chandra Alexander had a top 20 finish as she fired a three-round score of 242.


Kelsie Gray, playing in just her second tournament of the season, had the third lowest total for North Texas with a three-round score of 253. Maggie Noel was two shots behind Gray with a score of 255 and freshman Kyla Whittley shot a 259.


The Mean Green is next in action on February 25-26 at the Islander Spring Classic.
