North Texas Climbs Leaderboard On Day Two

TUCSON, Arizona- On the second day of the Wildcat Invitational, the North Texas women’s golf team improved its standing by moving up to ninth place. The field features eight top-50 teams and after round two the Mean Green have passed No. 34 San Diego State with a second round 15 over-par.
Kelsey Kipp continues to lead the team, and is currently tied for 24th after a four over- par 76 stroke day and seven-over for the tournament. Even with Kipp maintaining a spot in the top-25, she was outdone by teammate McKenzie Ralston on the day as she shot a two over-par 74.
Ralston started the day at two under-par after five holes until a double bogey on No. 15, and was three shots off her career best 71 with five birdies in Tucson and sits tied for 38th.
The Mean Green has four players in the top-50 as Jacey Chun had a rough day two shooting a nine over-par 81 dropping her from 38th place to 55th.
No. 22 Arizona continues to dominate the field with a 12 under-par and nine under second round, while No. 1 UCLA sits in second with at two under-par. The third and final round of the tournament begins tomorrow with live stats found at www.golfstat.com
