Durie And Kwon Shoot 71's In The Second Round, Durie Climbs To 12th
Mean Green Remain In Ninth Place After Two Rounds In New Mexico
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Maraea Durie continued her masterful play with a 1-under par 71 to pace the North Texas women’s golf team during the second round at the Price’s Give Em’ Five Intercollegiate. Durie inched her way up the leaderboard into a tie for 12th place and is at even-par 144 after two-rounds of play.
The Mean Green as a team shot a second round of 7-over 295, cutting three strokes off their opening round score. NT remains in ninth place after two rounds of play. Idaho remains the clubhouse leader after two rounds, leading New Mexico State by six shots heading into the third-round.
Durie had three birdies on the day to go along with an eagle on the par-5 16th hole. Eji Kwon bounced back from a tough opening round to match the 71 put by Durie on the day. Kwon moved into a tie for 30th place. Her scorecard was almost blemish free with just one bogey. She carded one birdie and like Durie, eagled the par-5 16th hole.
Nyca Khaw is tied with Kwon after two-rounds of play in 30th place following a second-round of 4-over par 76. Laura DeLeonardis shot a second-round of 5-over par and freshman Abbi Shaddix posted a score of 83.
