Shaddix Posts The Low-Round Of The For North Texas
Mean Green Remain In 13th Place In New Mexico
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Sophomore Abbi Shaddix had a team-high four birdies on the day and shot the best score in the second round of the Price’s Give Em Five Intercollegiate to lead the North Texas women’s golf team.
Shaddix was 3-over par for the day with a 75 and climbed into a tie for 51st place after two rounds of play. Freshman Kalli Jennings remains the low score for North Texas after 36 holes. She posted a second-round score of 4-over par 76 and is tied for 31st place.
Jennings was 4-over par after four-holes of play, but steady herself to shoot the final 14 holes at even-par, with one birdie and one bogey to go along with 12 pars.
Eji Kwon likewise shot a 4-over par 76 on the day and is tied for 46th place. Freshman Samantha Huang is tied with Shaddix for 51st place following a second-round score of 5-over par 77. Nyca Khaw is in 60th place after firing a second-round of 77.
North Texas as a team cut seven strokes off their first-round to shoot a 304 in the second-round, but remained in 13th place overall. BYU remains the clubhouse leader after the second day of play.
