Durie And Khaw In The Top-15 After The First Round
Mean Green Tied For Ninth Place In New Mexico
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – A pair of newcomers are in the top-15 after the first round for the North Texas women’s golf team at the Price’s Give Em’ Five Intercollegiate. Maraea Durie and Nyca Khaw shot rounds of 1-over par 73 and are tied for 13th place after the opening round.
Durie had three birdies on the day while Khaw played nearly a flawless round with one birdie and only one double bogey, to go along with 16 pars on the day. Laura DeLeonardis is just one stroke back at 2-over par 74 on the day as she is tied for 29th place.
Eji Kwon had an uncharacterisc tough round at 6-over par 78. The stroke average leader for NT is in 60th place after the first day. Abbi Shaddix, playing in her first tournament for North Texas, shot an 8-over par 80 and is tied for 70th place.
North Texas as a team is tied for ninth place with Portland State after the opening round. The Mean Green shot a 10-over par 298. Idaho holds a six-stroke lead after the first following a 4-under par score of 284.
