MANHATTAN, Kan. – Fresh off her career-best finish, junior McKenzie Ralston followed that up with another strong two rounds of golf to lead the North Texas women’s golf team at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational.
Battling the difficult layout at the Colbert Hills Country club, Ralston is tied for fourth place after rounds of 77 and 75. She posted seven birdies on the day and Ralston enters the final round only six strokes off the lead.
Taylor Kilponen is tied for 28th place after shooting rounds of 81 and 80. Freshman Eji Kwon, playing in her first collegiate tournament, had four birdies in her two rounds and posted scores of 82 and 81. She is tied for 42nd place.
Chaslyn Chrismer is tied for 56th place after shooting a 168 through two rounds while Georgina Mundy is in 71st place with a score of 175.
North Texas as a team is in eighth place after back-to-back rounds of 322. Kansas holds the clubhouse lead after 36 holes.
The final round begins tomorrow morning with a shotgun start.
