MEMPHIS, Tenn. – It was a strong start to the season for the North Texas women’s golf team with a fourth place finish and two players earning top-10 finishes at the FedEx Memphis Women’s Intercollegiate. The Mean Green had a score of 916 and finished in fourth place, one stroke ahead of the host Memphis, while McKenzie Ralston and Chaslyn Chrismer finished in the top-10 individually.
“This is a good start to the season with McKenzie finishing fourth and Chaz in ninth,” said head coach Jeff Mitchell. “We have some momentum to build on already. The team chemistry is great and everyone is ready to prepare hard for our next tournament in Kansas State.”
Ralston tied her career-best finish with a three-round score of 223 to finish in a tie for fourth place. It is the fourth career top-10 finish for Ralston. Chrismer was two shots behind Ralston and ended in a tie for ninth place, her fourth career top-10 finish.
Georgina Mundy had the low round of the day for North Texas as she finished in a tie for 27th place. Taylor Kilponen finished in a tie for 31st while Laura DeLeonardis ended tied for 38th place.
Up next North Texas returns to action on September 23-24 at the Marilyn Smith Sunflower Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas.

It is the first time since 2011 that North Texas has had two players in the top-10 at the same tournament.
