Mean Green In Third After Opening Day In Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – It was a sizzling start to the season for the North Texas women’s golf team as they sit in third place after 36 holes at the FedEx Memphis Intercollegiate.

McKenzie Ralston and Chaslyn Chrismer both sit in the top-five individually after the first round as the Mean Green is seven strokes off the pace heading into the final round. Middle Tennessee and Samford are tied atop the leaderboard after the first two rounds.  

Ralston is tied for second after rounds of 75 and 72. She posted four birdies through 36 holes and she is one shot behind Bailey Gray of Samford for the lead. Chrismer is only one stroke behind Ralston after firing a 75 and a 73 and two strokes off the lead heading into the final round.

Taylor Kilponen is tied for 22nd place while Laura DeLeonardis is in 32nd place and Georgina Mundy in 33rd.

Stat of the day
North Texas is the only team in the field with two players in the top-five after 36 holes.
