Women’s Golf Wraps Up Play At C-USA Championship

Junior Eji Kwon shot a final round 75 to finish tied for 39th at the C-USA championship Wednesday afternoon.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The North Texas women’s golf team completed its three-day Conference USA championship Wednesday afternoon finishing in 11th place at the Verandah Club.

The Mean Green had their best team score shooting a collective 311in the final round. North Texas finished the championship with a three-round total score of 949 (312-326-311).

Kwon shot a team-best 75 in the final round to finish in a tie for 39th place with a three-round total score of 238 (75-88-75). Sophomore Nyce Khaw had a tough final round scoring an 82 but also finished in a tie for 39th at 238 (76-80-82).

Freshman Samantha Huang was one stroke behind after three rounds firing a final round 83 to finish in a tie for 41st at 239 (80-76-83). Sophomore Devin Edwards had her best round of the tournament in the final round carding a 77 to finish in a tie for 46th with a three-day total score of 242 (81-84-77).

Freshman Kalli Jennings also played well in the final round with a 77 but finished 48th with a three-day total score of 244 (81-86-77).

MTSU claimed first place and earned a trip to the NCAA regionals with a three-round score of 876, winning the title by 13 strokes over Old Dominion. FIU’s Meghan Maclaren earned the individual trophy carding a three-under par 213 (73-71-69) defeating MTSU’s Hanley Long by two strokes.
