Freshman Edwards Leads NT In Final Round
Mean Green Finish BYU At Entrada Classic In 12th Place
ST. GEORGE, Utah - Freshman Devin Edwards paced the North Texas women's golf team in the final round of the BYU at Entrada Classic. Edwards shot her second-lowest round of the season with a 2-over par 74. Edwards had three birdies on the day and played the back nine holes at 1-under par.
Despite the strong play from Edwards, North Texas struggled on the day, posting a final round of 316 to slip to 12th place as a team.
Eji Kwon, who started the day tied for fifth place, couldn't replicate her second-round of 69 as she shot a third-round of 8-over par. Kwon did finish tied for 13th place, her third top-20 finish of the season.
Abbi Shaddix and Maraea Durie each shot a 9-over par 81 in the final round. Shaddix finished tied for 58th place while Durie was tied for 64th place. Laura DeLeonardis shot a third-round score of 94 and finished in a tie for 76th.
Edwards finished in a tie for 67th place. No. 41 Cal ran away from the field to win the tournament by 20 shots.
North Texas stays on the road, heading to Tucson, Arizona to play in the Mountainview Classic March 20-21.
