HONOLULU – North Texas freshman Eji Kwon narrowly missed out on her fourth straight top-25 finish but she paced the Mean Green on the final day of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawai’i. Kwon shot a final round of 80 and finished tied for 28th place. She had the lowest three-round score of the tournament for NT with a score of 231.
Chaslyn Chrismer and Taylor Kilponen each had three-round scores of 234. Chrismer posted the lowest score of the day for North Texas with a 78 while Kilponen had a final round of 80. Both players ended in a tie for 40th place.
Laura DeLeonardis shot a final round of 83 and finished tied for 71st while Brooke Bailey closed with a score of 85 and finished in 79th place.
North Texas as a team shot a third-round of 321 and finished in 11th place overall. No. 35 Mississippi State captured the team title, running away from the field to win by 21 strokes.
The Mean Green is back in action on March 17-18 at the BYU Classic at Entrada.
