GAINESVILLE, Florida - Sophomore Lauren Cox shot a five-over 75 in the third and final round of the SunTrust Gator Invitational Sunday, pacing North Texas.

The Mean Green finished in 13th place at 77-over-par, and junior Sol Lee led the way for the Mean Green with a 45th place individually at +15, while Cox was right behind her teammate at +18, in 51st for the tournament.

Cox's 75 on Sunday was her second-best round of the event, but led the way for the Mean Green, finishing two strokes lower than Lee, who carded a 77 to close her tournament. Cox birdied the third hole and finished with 12 pars on the day.

Lee birdied No. 12 for the second time this weekend, but was undone by six bogeys and a double on No. 17. She did however still have the best overall finish for any of the North Texas golfers for the second straight tournament.

Sophomore Elena Kim (two), junior Sabina Pena and senior Nyca Khaw (one each) combined for four birdies Sunday in the final round.

No. 12 Florida won the event at even-par, 12 strokes ahead of the pair of second place finishers, seventh-ranked Furman and No. 44 Campbell. Daytona State College's Jiwon Jeon ran away with the individual title, at -7.

The Mean Green will be back in action from the MountainView Collegiate in Tucson, Arizona March 23-25, co-hosted by Missouri and Kansas State.
