North Texas Shoots Fifth Best Round Of The Day At Islander Classic

CORPUS CHRISTI - The North Texas women's golf team rebounded nicely in the final round of the Islander Spring Classic to post the fifth lowest round of the day with a 311. After facing off with mother-nature and the elements on the opening day, things were calmer and the Mean Green cut 22 strokes off its first round.

North Texas was unable to move out of 12th place though and finished there for the tournament.

Eji Kwon had the best day for North Texas with a 4-over par score of 76. She moved up the leaderboard into a tie for 27th place. Laura DeLeonardis was one-stroke behind her on the day with a final round of 5-over par 77. She finished in a tie for 33rd place. Maraea Durie finished in 48th place after a score of 80.

Freshman Abbi Shaddix shot a score of 78 to move up into a tie for 53rd place while Nyca Khaw posted a score of 82.

Lamar and Central Arkansas shared the team title with scores of 613.
