Kilponen And Kwon Pace NT To Fourth Place After Two Rounds
Mean Green Start The Spring With Strong Play

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Behind solid play from Taylor Kilponen and Eji Kwon the North Texas women’s golf team started the spring season off on a strong note as they sit in fourth place after the first day of the Islander Spring Classic.
Kilponen and Kwon are both in the top-15 after 36 holes as the Mean Green shot rounds of 308 and 307. Kilponen is tied for eighth place after shooting a 75 and 74. She is only six strokes off the lead heading into the final round tomorrow.
Kwon is only two shots behind with a 151 through two rounds of play. The freshman had a first round of 3-over par 75 and a second round of 76. Laura DeLeonardis is tied for 32nd place with a score of 157 while Chaslyn Chrismer is one stroke back with a two-round score of 158. Brooke Bailey is tied for 52nd place with a score of 162.
The Mean Green begin the final round nine strokes from third place as Lamar holds the overall team lead with a score of 597.
The final round begins Tuesday morning at 8:15.
