Feb. 23, 2016

CORPUS CHRISTI – Junior Eji Kwon battled through the wind to power the North Texas women’s golf team with a fourth-place finish at the Islander Spring Classic. The blustery conditions kept the final round scores high across the board, but Kwon managed a 4-over par 76 and finished alone in fourth place, her fourth career top-10 finish.

Ali Christian narrowly missed out on a top-25 finish as she ended tied for 28th place. Christian shot a final round of 81. Samantha Huang had her best round of the year with a 4-over par 76. Huang finished one stroke behind Christian and tied for 30th place.

Kalli Jennings posted a third-round score of 78 and Nyca Khaw shot a third round of 80. Laura DeLeonardis, playing as an individual, shot a final round of 91.

North Texas as a team shot a score of 310 in the final round and finished in sixth place. UTSA ran away from the field to win the team title by 21 strokes.
