Mean Green Is Off To Best Start In School History
DENTON (12/31/05) - The North Texas women's basketball team is off to its best start in school history thanks to a 72-59 win against Northwestern State on Sunday afternoon in the Super Pit.
The Mean Green (10-2) snapped
Williams led the team in scoring with 16 points. Senior Natalie Mireles joined her in double figures with 13 points, tying a career high. She set the personal best last game against Prairie View A&M.
The Mean Green led by as 15 points in the first half and then used a 27-10 run coming out of the break to take its largest lead of the game, 66-36, with 10:41 left.
Amber Jackson was shy of a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. Talicia Sanders led the team on the boards with 10. She chipped in six points.
North Texas opens conference play on Thursday, Jan. 5 when it faces
