DENTON, Texas - After a nine-day layoff the North Texas women's basketball team is back in action facing UALR at the Super Pit to begin Sun Belt Conference play. Tip-off is at 5 p.m. and the game can be hard on 88.1 FMM KNTU.
The Mean Green is perfect at home this season at 3-0. North Texas and UALR are meeting for the 18th time in series history. The Mean Green holds a slim one-game edge over UALR in the series at 9-8. The Trojans however have won seven straight games against North Texas in the series.
Jasmine Godbolt cranked her game up against Arizona with a career-high 25 points on 10- for-15 shooting from the floor. It is only the second time in her career that she has topped the 20-point mark. Godbolt continued to add to her personal best streak of scoring in double figures.
She has done that in all 13 games this season and has now scored in double figures in 17 straight games dating back to last season. It is the longest streak for scoring in double figures for a North Texas player in nearly eight seasons. Jalie Mitchell scored in double figures in 20 straight games during the 2001-02 season.
Jasmine Godbolt and Denetra Kellum both topped the 20-point mark against Arizona as Godbolt scored 25 and Kellum poured in 24. Both players had identical lines from the floor at 10-for-15.
The last time that North Texas had two players score in double figures was February 14, 2002 when Jalie Mitchell and Shannan Stephenson scored 21 and 30 points against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
