VIDEO: Mean Green Get A New Locker Room

Dec. 24, 2016

- The North Texas women's basketball team was surprised with a brand new locker room right before they left for the Christmas vacation.

Head coach Jalie Mitchell wanted to give the women a modern locker room that both motivates and pays respect to the program's past who have lay the path for their current and future success. The new locker room highlights the program's 1986 NCAA tournament team and the six former players who are in the Mean Green Athletic Hall of Fame. Additionally, throughout the locker room are references to university athletic traditions, such as the giant "Light The Tower" mural on the back wall.

The women's new space features green LED lighting, couches, a television and surround sound speakers.

Attached to the locker room is the team's new film room that Mitchell had renovated before the season. Similar to the locker room, the program's history and current customs fill the film room.

The Mean Green return from the holiday break and begin the Conference USA schedule with Charlotte on Dec. 30. Tickets can be purchased at the Super Pit on gamedays or
