Listen To the Women's Basketball Game Today Against Northwestern State

Natchitoches, LA (12/21/06) - The North Texas women's basketball team plays its sixth game of its nine-game road trip with an afternoon battle against Northwestern State on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 2 pm. The game can be heard live on KNTU (88.1) radio.

The Mean Green is coming off a loss to Texas A&M and will play its final game before taking a nine-day break for the holidays. Northwestern State is playing at home following two losses on the road to Eastern Washington and Washington State.

The series with Northwestern State has been a difficult one for the Mean Green as the Demons hold a 17-2 edge over North Texas. The two teams met for the first time since 1996 last season which was a 72-59 Mean Green victory. North Texas is in search of its first win on the road at Prather Coliseum. The Mean Green is 0-9 on the road in Natchitoches.

Amanda Quattrocchi made the first two starts of her career against New Orleans and Texas A&M and they went quite well. She had nine assists and only three turnovers, good for a 3-to-1 assist to turnover ration as a starter. Quattrocchi has a team high 23 assists on the year and is the only player with more assists than turnovers.

Guard Sanetra Jackson scored a career-high 24 points against Texas A&M. It marks the second time in her career that she has scored 20 points or more in a game. The 24 points in a game were the most by a North Texas player in 11 games, dating back to last season. Jackson is also on pace to challenge the record for best free throw percentage in a single season at North Texas. She is at 86 percent, which is good for second best. The record is 90.9 percent set three seasons ago by Jill Medlock.
