North Texas and Denver were Sun Belt rivals as recently as two years ago. Denver owns the overall series, 16-8. The Pioneers swept NT in 2012, and they’ve won the last seven in a row.

• Quick Hitters
-Peterson scored a career-high 27 at N. Colorado
-Senior Ash’Lynne Evans scored a season-high 16 points at N. Colorado, 10 of which came in the first half
-NT is 0-4 when trailing at the half and 1-3 on the road

• Peterson’s Coming-Out Party
Janis Peterson, in her first-career start since transferring from San Francisco City College, rewarded the coaching staff, knocking down a career-high 27 points at Northern Coloradoalong with six steals and four rebounds. Her 27 points were the most by a Mean Green player since Loryn Goodwin posted 28 last February against Louisiana-Monroe.

• Spreading the Wealth
NT is much deeper this season than in the past. Six different Mean Green players have led the team in scoring through nine games (Hyder, Tac, Wynn, Dawkins, Adams and now Peterson).
