DENTON, Texas - Junior forward Jasmine Godbolt was named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team and North Texas was received a first place vote and was picked to finish fifth West Division in the preseason coaches poll, the league announced today.
Godbolt led the team in both field goal percentage (.476) and rebounding (228 total/7.9 per game) in 2010-11. She finished second on North Texas and 13th in the Sun Belt in points per game with 13.2, ranked fifth in the league in rebounding, and ninth in field goal percentage during 2010-11.
The 2009-10 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, she has posted 16 career double doubles in two seasons, including seven in 2010-11. Godbolt has 484 career rebounds and 747 career points through two seasons, averaging 12.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.
Denver and Middle Tennessee are the preseason favorites to win the West and East divisions, respectively. Kaetlyn Murdoch (Denver, Sr., F) and Ebony Rowe (Middle Tennessee, So., F) are the Preseason Sun Belt Co-Players of the Year.
