DENTON - The Mean Green men's and women's basketball teams will be on display for the first time at the Super Pit on Oct. 23 in the third-annual North Texas Basketball Madness.

The event begins at 7 p.m. with free food and drinks from several local restaurants, a step show, dance groups, the UNT Drumline, as well as intra-squad scrimmages from both basketball teams, a 3-point showdown and the much-anticipated dunk contest.

The world-famous Zooperstars! will also be invading the Super Pit for North Texas Basketball Madness. Check out their promo reel here.

Two-time defending 3-point champion Laura McCoy graduated last season after wowing the Super Pit crowds with near half-court swishes in each of the last two years. We'll find out who takes the reigns from McCoy as the men and women team up for a long-range shoot-out.

In 2013, Armani Flannigan stole the dunk contest crown from Jordan Williams when he leaped over teammate Vertrail Vaughns for a slam, which drew all 10's from the celebrity judges - including Dallas Maverick Jae Crowder. Both now seniors, Flannigan and Williams will face stiff competition from stable of high-flying newcomers to the Mean Green in 2014.

Be sure to stick around afterwards for autographs from both squads at 9 p.m.
