As the North Texas women's basketball team arrives back on campus and begins working out, we are going to catch up with all 15 players before the first official practice under new head coach Karen Aston. First up is guard Brittney Hudson.
Q: What have you been doing over the summer?
Hudson: All summer the whole team was up here, and we've been lifting and running five days a week. We've been up here since May, and we've been working hard all summer.
What have you learned so far from the new coaching staff?
Hudson: I've learned a lot, actually today in individuals. I learned that my footwork is not exactly where it needs to be, but as far as this new staff goes they're just really detailed. As far as how they teach they're real big on all the small things. I've learned a lot.
What are your personal expectations this year?
Hudson: To win a championship, that's at the top right now. We haven't done it in I don't know how long, but it'd be great to do that this year.
What part of your game have you been working on over the summer?
Hudson: Mainly on my conditioning and my overall strength. I've been working on my shot a whole lot, but mainly just getting in better shape.
What are you looking forward to this year in basketball and academically?
Hudson: Academically, since I only have one class to take I would like to get an A. And as far as on the court, reach our whole potential.
