DENTON (7/14/06) North Texas women’s basketball signee Brittney James showcased her talent last night at the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star Game as she was named the MVP in leading the South to a 77-65 victory at Daniel Meyer Coliseum.
James poured in a game-high 21 points to go along with four steals, three assists, and three rebounds.
James, who averaged 26 points and nine rebounds a game, was named to the Class 3A TABC first-team all-state and all-region for the second straight year.
James was the District MVP for the second straight season. She was selected to play in the Texas/Louisiana All-Star games and was named the MVP with 24 points and 12 rebounds. James, a multi-sport athlete, was named the District Co-MVP in volleyball.
