#First44 Day 19: New Jerseys on the Docket
Mitchell Plans Uniform Tweak for Next Season
Mitchell was named head coach of the North Texas women's basketball team on April 9, 2015. Between moving back to Denton, getting to know the team and beginning to operate the Mean Green program, Mitchell will be very busy early on in her tenure. We want to give fans an in-depth look at her #First44 days on the job in the form of a 44-part series that will run from April 10-May 23.
A new staff might also mean a new look for the Mean Green. Jalie Mitchell and director of operations Brandon Miller met with the North Texas Nike rep today to discuss new team gear for the 2015-16 season.
"Fans can get ready for our new home and away uniforms to hit the court next season," she said. "Nothing is finalized yet, but I can just say that they're sublimated and will have names on the back. We are ordering them in white and kelly green."
North Texas' existing uniforms, seen above, have been in the same style for the past few seasons. Mitchell says they will choose a jersey type and color combination that will represent the pride our student-athletes have in the university and in the program. The Mean Green will expect its new gear to arrive sometime in August, just in time for team photos.
