DENTON, Tex. (2/23/08) It’s senior night for the North Texas women’s basketball team and they look to send their four senior’s out with a victory against Arkansas State tonight at the Super Pit. The Mean Green can also clinch a first-round home game in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament with one more win this season.
Erica Howard, Talicia Sanders, Lyza Koubiteb, and Kristal Robeson will play their final regular season home game against Arkansas State. Howard and Sanders in their four years at North Texas has firmly placed their names into the Mean Green’s record books.
Howard is the only player to ever record back-to-back double doubles as a freshman at NT while Sanders is chasing the all-time rebounding mark. Those two players at home have seen 35 wins in their four-years at North Texas.
Jo Hall erutped for her best game in nearly two months against ULM since starting the Sun Belt Conference season with a career-high 25 points against Denver. Against the Warhawks Hall ended a seven-game drought of not reaching double figures in points with 18 and had her best shooting night from the floor (63 percent) in six games.
North Texas has notched nine wins this season at the Super Pit and with one more home game has a chance to get to 10 home wins for only the seventh time in school history. Of those six 10-win seasons at home, four have come under head coach Tina Slinker.
