Game Notes: Mean Green At UTSA

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — North Texas is in San Antono, Texas, to take on Texas-San Antonio in a battle of two teams tied in the conference standings. The Mean Green (10-14, 7-6 C-USA) are going for their fifth win in a row while UTSA (11-13, 7-6 C-USA) is hoping to end its current three-game losing streak.



The last time North Texas was above .500 in conference on Feb. 16 or later was in 2008. 


North Texas won its seventh C-USA game Thursday at UTEP. It’s the most wins in C-USA in program history. 




North Texas’ four-game winning streak is its longest since 2013 


The Mean Green’s Terra Ellison scored 14 points versus UTEP on Thursday. They all came in the second quarter. \ 


North Texas is 8-0 in games this season when it shoots 44.2 percent or better from the field. In games where they shoot below 44.2 percent they are 2-14. In both of North Texas’ wins when they shot below 44.2 percent they shot exactly 37.3 percent.  


North Texas senior Terra Ellison is 59 rebounds from her 400th of her career. If she reaches 400 rebounds she’ll become just the 13th North Texas women’s basketball player with over 700 points and 400 rebounds.  


North Texas senior Candice Adams is five 3-pointers away from setting a single-season career-best with 50. Adams made 49 3-pointers a season ago, which currently stands as the eighth best in school history. 


North Texas is averaging 19.4 forced turnovers per game. It’s the second-most in C-USA and the 33rd most in the country.


North Texas senior Candice Adams has drawn 27 charges this season in 22 games played.
