North Texas enters a key Sun Belt matchup with the Warhawks of Monroe after dropping two straight at home. With the Sun Belt West division on the line, the Mean Green has a lot to fight for down the stretch in conference play. The Warhawks are coming off a win against state rival ULL and sit directly behind North Texas in the West.
ULM holds a significant edge in the overall series. They own a 29-8 all-time edge over North Texas. However, recently North Texas has escaped with two of the last three including a lopsided victory over the Warhawks on January 5.
Lights On Loryn
Freshman Loryn Goodwin hit a freshman record seven 3-pointers against FIU and had a career-high 26 points. The seven 3-pointers are the second most in school history in a game and the 26 points are the most by a freshman in a game since Brittney James had 27 against ULM in 2007. Goodwin moved into fifth place in a single season with 52 3-pointers and needs only 10 more to break the single season school record. Also, Goodwin has 77 steals for the season, which is tied for seventh most in a single season. Goodwin needs just five more to break the freshman record for most steals in a single season. She needs 16 steals to break the overall school records, set back in 1978-79 by Lisa Risinger.
